Gretna saw three different players score a goal in a 3-0 win over Papio South in Thursday’s state soccer action.

The Dragons advance to play Marian in the Class A semifinals Saturday at 3 p.m. Papio South’s season ends with a 13-7 record.

Highlights: Gretna struck first in the 6th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Savannah De Fini blasted a shot from about 20 yards out that flew over the goalie and into the net.

The Dragons maintained a control in possession for the majority of the first half. They had a few really good chances, including a Chaley French shot that went off the high post.

While Gretna controlled the play, the Titans has a couple of successful counters lead to near misses by Allison Baker and Kylee Miller.

Gretna upped its offensive pressure in the second half. It led to a goal with 24 minutes left in the game when French delivered a perfect cross to Sarah Weber, who flushed it in the net.

About 12 minutes later, Chelsea Anderson pulled in the Titan defense before a dish to Sydney Zabloudil for the Dragons’ third goal.

Top performers: De Fini, Weber and Zabloudil each found the back of the net to pace the offense for the Dragons.

Sydney Haynes was a strong defender for the Titans with goalkeeper Tori Bailey adding some big saves.

From the coach: "I thought we played OK, but not great in the first half. We talked about exploiting some space (at halftime) and I thought we were definitely better in the second half."
