Classic cars, trucks and tractors lined the Gretna High School parking lot June 1 for the fifth annual Skills, Grilles and Grills car show, put on by the Meadowlark Model A Ford Club and the Gretna High School SkillsUSA program.

Starting at 1923 the car show had a variety of works from different decades that allowed visitors to travel back in time for one day.

Event sponsors were American National Bank, Ag West, Gretna Chiropractic, Harney Realty, Hintz Auto Repair, McKinneys, U-Save Pharmacy, We’ll Smoke U, Pinnacle Bank, Ty’s Outdoor Power, Wagner Auto Service, Reichert Family Dentistry, Ace Hardware, Rox Wheel Taxes/Bookkeeping, NAPA Gretna, NAPA Ashland, Gretna Vision Source, Langdon’s Bar and Grill and Dove Auto.

There were awards that were based on popular vote.

1. Roxwheel Bookkeeping & Taxes: Jim Warren of Gretna with his 1978 Lincoln Town Car.

2. AG WEST: Personally presented by Dale Jergensen to Kyle Rowan of Gretna, with his 1947 John Deere B Tractor.

3. F & M Bank: Joe Marcuzzo of Papillion, with his 1923 Ford T-Bucket.

4. NAPA Ashland: Don Graves of Omaha, with his 1931 Ford Model A Convertible Sedan.

5. We’ll Smoke You: Eric Pinkall of Gretna, with his 1941 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe.

6. Gretna Vision Source: Tim Hall of Gretna with his 1970 VW Beetle.

7. Dove Auto: Randy Crow of Bellevue with his 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS.

8. NAPA Gretna: Jim Rybar of Bellevue with his 1993 Mazda RX7-R1.

9. Pinnacle Bank: Bruce Rima of Blair with his 1931 Ford Model A Pick-up.

10. TY’S Outdoor Power: Mike Redmond of Council Bluffs with his 1976 Ford F150 4X4 Truck.

11. Harney Realty: Randy Koke of Gretna with his 2009 Ford F-150 Truck.

12. Hintz Auto Repair: Jack Ticknef of Gretna with his 1963 John Deere 3010 Tractor.

13. LANGDON’S Bar & Grill: Dorothy Whited of Gretna with her 1969 Mercury Cougar.

14. McKinney’s Food Center: James Iske of Gretna with his 1924 Ford Model T Roadster.
