What do you teach? I teach sixth grade and assist teach graduate math courses at Chandler View Elementary School.

Experience: I have taught for the last eight years.

Who or what influenced you to become an educator? Since I can remember, I have always wanted to be a teacher.

How do you spend your summer vacation? I use my summers to accomplish my goal of getting my family to all 48 contiguous states, hoping we can travel abroad once my children graduate from high school. We just have the northeast and northwest corners of our country to go within the next six and a half years.

What’s the most rewarding part of being an educator? The most rewarding part of being a teacher is recognizing the moment the student grasps the concept. The runner-up is visiting with former students.

If I weren’t a teacher, I’d ... be a judge or a drill sergeant.
