A+ Josephine Jasiak. When it comes to mothers-in-law, I could not have handpicked a better one than you. You epitomized what it means to be family and your influence lives on in your daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I’m going to miss the beef barley soup and complaints about NFL kickers missing 30-yard field goals in the closing minute of a game, but mostly I’m going to miss you being here. Rest in peace, Josie.
B- College World Series. The tournament arrives this week, hence my annual longing of tourneys past at Rosenblatt Stadium when kids like me could take the bus to attend day games and the only person hawking merchandise was the guy in the stadium shouting “sno-cones here.” The corporate influence has turned the CWS into one giant commercial venture and not necessarily for the better. That said, rest assured I, too, will make my way to TD Ameritrade some time in the next two weeks — it is college baseball, after all.
