Fontenelle Forest will open its doors for free to active-duty military families as part of the Blue Star Museum program.

The free admission, which runs through Labor Day, is part of a nationwide program of more than 2,000 sites, including museums and nature centers. In the metro area, other venues part of the program are Joslyn Art Museum, Western Historic Trails Center, and El Museo Latino.

The free admission program is available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention common access card, a DD Form 1173 ID card, or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card, which includes active-duty U.S. military — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps — and up to five family members.
