So AIG won’t sue the federal government for saving its bacon, after all. The American International Group Inc. has declined to join a lawsuit against the government that was brought by its former CEO, Maurice “Hank” Greenberg. The suit claims that terms of the $182 billion taxpayer-funded bailout, which saved the insurance giant during the 2008 financial crisis, were too onerous. Company officials were required to consider the move, but current CEO Bob Benmosche correctly said they determined that a lawsuit wasn’t appropriate. No kidding.
