If I had to say what makes a good sports bar: It's lots of television sets, but also a staff who can manage those televisions. It must serve more than domestic light beers. And I'm thrilled if there's a good burger on the menu.

Like most Omaha teens of the '90s, I spent a handful of very, very late nights at the Donut Stop. They all sort of run together now, but I know they often happened after shows at Sokol Underground, after nights of after-hours dancing or after hitting the downtown bars, once I was old enough.

I have lots of favorite pizzas in Omaha; anyone who loves food knows that our city is a bit crazy for this particular food. I've seen people actually get into arguments over the merits of Mama's versus La Casa. (Full disclosure: I'm on Team La Casa.)
