Townsend, Herbert LeRoy "Herb" Age 80 Herbert LeRoy "Herb" Townsend passed away February 6, 2016 at his home in Council Bluffs. He was born in Omaha, NE on June 20, 1935 to the late Albert and Matilda (Schiernbeck) Townsend. Herb proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Rainbow Post #2. Herb is survived by his wife, Susette (Nixon); children, Jean, Terry, Scott, Jeri and Michael; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and niece, Debbie. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger; and daughter, Michelle. VISITATION is 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. FUNERAL SERVICE 2pm Thursday at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Garner Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Southwest Iowa.
