Melvin was a great friend to me and my entire family. We were fortunate enough to live next to Melvin and Darlene for over 30 years. I am truly saddened today from the loss of my friend, but will be eternally grateful for having the opportunity to know him and share in his life.

We so loved Melvin. Was saddened when he fell and broke his hip, and then all the complications. He certainly missed Darlene and had been ready for a long time to join her. He led a wonderful life and was so good to everyone he met. May God hold him in His arms and Darlene welcome him into his new life, may he rest in Peace, Amen

We were sadden by the news that Mel passed. We had the pleasure of knowing Mel for little over a year but he was the best neighbor anyone could have. I will miss his Hello's when we both got our mail at the same time and he always without a skip of the beat asked how we were doing and we spoke often about the Nebraska weather! Mel it was a delightful pleasure knowing you. Rest in peace.

We were so sad to hear of Melvin's passing. We have so many memories of our families spending time together and the great joy Mom and Dad had spending time with both of your parents. Please share with all the family our deepest sympathies. Mike and Barbara Stapleton, Steve Stapleton

So sorry of Melvin's passing. Know he went through a lot in the last few days of his life with falling/stroke etc. He will be sorely missed. Want to thank the family for making sure Melvin got back to St. Joe for our Benton Class of 52's reunion. Enjoyed seeing him there. RIP....Melvin

TO MELVIN'S FAMILY; My memories of Melvin, are from Benton High School in St. Joseph, Mo. He was my favorite dance partner, (Jiggerbug). Melvin was the best fast
