Sloup, Joseph E. Age 88 Of Rising City, NE. Died Thursday, February 18, 2016 at David place in David City, NE. Joseph E. Sloup was born August 6, 1927 to Emil and Anna (Hladky) Sloup near Garrison, NE. Joseph married Nadine (Rathje) on June 7, 1953. Together Joe and Nadine spent 40 years running Joe's Texaco, which later became Joe's Sinclair. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Anna; wife Nadine; one brother Edward and four sisters, Emma Nordmeyer, Mary Lulow, Rose Gaskill, and Helen West. He is survived by children, Michael (Tamra) Sloup of Boca Raton, FL, and daughter Trudy (Terry) Samek of David City; six grandchildren, Abby, Alexis, Tyler, Mason, Summer and Myles; two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Maddox; three sisters, Anne Woolsey, Darlene Shippen, and Beverly Dwyer.
