Owens, Renee Irene (Valentine) Aug 25, 1945 - Feb 22, 2016 Summerfield, FL. She was born August 25, 1945, to the late Wayne and Lois Valentine of Bedford, Iowa. Her brother Clifford also preceded her death. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school through 7th grade. She then finished 8th grade and high school in Bedford. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Charles (Chuck) Owens, a son Mark of Euless, Texas, step-son Richard and wife Shelly of Lake Park, Minnesota and three step-grandchildren, Austin, Christina and Nicholas as well as three aunts and numerous cousins. Renee and Chuck retired in 2006 and then moved to Summerfield, Florida in 2008 where they joined the Weirsdale Presbyterian Church. Renee learned to weave baskets, create sofa throws by Swedish weaving and play mah-jongg with her Spruce Creek South neighbor ladies. She was well known among family and friends for her cooking talent. She also enjoyed traveling and cruising. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Weirsdale Presbyterian Church at 11am. BURIAL will be at Bellevue, Nebraska in the near future. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
