They were married for 65 years, until her passing in January 22, 2017. He started a second career with the US Postal Service after his USAF retirement, working as a clerk in various stations and branches of the Omaha Post Office. He retired a second time in 1990. He and Delores spent winters in their RV "down in the valley" at Donna, TX. They loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. That time was usually spent trying to fix something or tinkering with some new bauble. When old age hobbled their travel plans, they enriched themselves by lunching at their favorite places, where their sandwiches were made when they were spotted coming in the door. Friday nights was game night at Delores' sister's (Rosemary Mapes) house where cards and Mexican train was played. VIEWING will be at Bellevue Chapel on Tuesday, July 9, from 5-7pm. FUNERAL SERVICE will be Wednesday, July 10 at 11am at Bellevue Memorial Chapel followed by INTERMENT in Omaha National Cemetery at 1pm. Obituary Search Tips
Enter a full name, a last name (confirm the spelling) and/or keywords in the search box.
If your search is unsuccessful, try removing the first name. The person's known name may not be the name on record.
Try adding quotation marks to a keyword phrase for an exact match, or simply search by date or date-range for broader results.
