Kropp, Dale Carl "Pete" Age 85 Of Omaha, formerly of Battle Creek, NE. Mr. Kropp died in Omaha on January 28, 2016. Pete was born on February 22, 1930, in Stanton, NE, the son of Carl and Hannah Holtman Kropp. He was raised in Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School in 1948. He continued his education at Wayne State College before he began his military service. Pete entered the US Army on 1952. He served in Korea and was the recipient of two Bronze Stars. He earned his honorable discharge in 1954. He then resumed his academic studies at Wayne State and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in education in 1956. Pete taught in the school systems of Newcastle, Randolph, Wayne, Winside, and Battle Creek. He taught social studies, industrial arts, driver's education, physical education and also coached football, basketball and track. Pete retired from the teaching profession after 35 years of service. Pete served as Mayor of Battle Creek and was recognized as Battle Creek's Outstanding Citizen 2004. Pete is survived by his wife Pat, of Omaha, formerly of Battle Creek, his son and his wife, Bob and Kim Kropp, of Papillion; his grandchildren, Andrew Kropp and Drs. Chelsea and Patrick Wachter, of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 10am, Friday, February 5, at the Home for Funerals in Norfolk. Reverend Mr. Tom Hughes will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. VISITATION 5-8pm Thursday at the Home for Funerals. Memorials may be directed to the Kropp Family Scholarship Fund of Battle Creek.
