Hruska, Herman Eugene July 7, 1940 - June 10, 2019 A loving husband, dad, and douda. A Central High School Graduate ('58) his parents owned and operated the Center Street Florist. While in high school, he was a star football player and ROTC member and later attended the University of Omaha. A proud member of IBEW Local 22, he worked as an electrician and electrical inspector for 48 years from Nebraska to Virginia, working for various companies and the Army Corps of Engineers in Washington, DC. He was and avid Boy Scout leader, hunter, gardener, race car enthusiast, and as his grandkids say the "knower of all things cool." Preceded in death by parents, Herman and Anne; brother, Robert. Survived by wife, Jan; children: Jennifer (Garrett) Klein, Heather (Mickey) McDade, H. Jerome (Jessica) Hruska; grandchildren: Carolee, Calissa, Jake, Charlie, H. Tyler and Julia; sister, Anne Parsons, nieces and nephews. VISITATION: Monday, June 24, 2019, from 5-7pm, at the mortuary. FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at 11am, at the mortuary. Interment: Bohemian National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for the Boy Scouts of America, a true passion for Gene.
