Heck, Wm. Marshall "Mick" Age 89 Life-long resident of Council Bluffs, IA. Passed away February 9, 2016 in Bellevue, NE. Marshall was born August 14, 1926 in Des Moines, IA, to the late Edward James Heck and Florence Edith (Langmade) Heck. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Edward James Heck, Jr., Dorothy Marie Smith, and Robert Warren Heck. Marshall is survived by Barbara Wright Heck, his wife of 66 years; his children, Elizabeth Wanning (Mark), Martha Heck, John Heck (Peggy), Andrew Heck (Paula), Patrick Heck, Sarah Tack (Tom), and Catherine Heck. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Marshall graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1944 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1951. Marshall retired after 40 years as President of Edward J. Heck and Sons, Co. in 1999. Marshall was a member of St. Patrick's Parish. He served on the Boards of St. Albert Catholic Schools, VNA, Phoenix House, and Diocese of Des Moines Catholic Charities. He received the Spirit of St. Albert Award and a Distinguished Service Award from the Nebraska Grain and Feed Association. He also volunteered at the Council Bluffs Public Library. A VISITATION will be held at Cutler-O'Neill Funeral Home on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 5pm-7pm with a wake service at 6pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church on Saturday, February 13, at 11am. A luncheon will be served after the funeral.
