Gillaspie, Kathryn "Ann" September 6, 1952 - June 12, 2019 Age 66. Ann was born on Sept 6, 1952 in Omaha, NE to parents, Robert E. and Kathryn H. (Hanley) Gillaspie. She died peacefully from her courageous battle with brain cancer on June 12, 2019. Ann graduated from the University of Nebraska and was a huge Husker fan. She was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She began her career as a teacher at Bellevue East High School and worked many years for Physicians Mutual, Zurich Insurance, and until last February, for the Nebraska Business Development Center and Methodist EAP. Ann also taught at Bellevue University and was a substitute teacher for Omaha Public Schools. Ann was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her partner of 25 years and wife for three of those years, Linda S. Shepard; her brother, Thomas J. Gillaspie (Pam) of Lincoln, NE; niece, Megan Gillaspie Peters and nephew, Trevelyn Gillaspie, both of Phoenix, AZ; grandnieces, Ivy Peters and Tamara Gillaspie; grandnephew, Tanner Gillaspie; and her beloved schnauzers, Abby and Lucy. Ann will be truly missed by family and friends who knew and loved her dearly. No formal services. A celebration of Ann's life will be held at a later date.
