Weather was a factor in two fatal car accidents in Nebraska on Monday.

Just after midnight, Lincoln County sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene of a one-car accident near Sutherland, where a vehicle went off the road.

Driver Korey E. Huebner, 24, of Hershey was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, where she died. Passengers, Micah B. Koch, 24, and Jay D. Shotkoski, 28, both of Hershey, were injured. Huebner's vehicle drove off the road and struck the bank. Sheriff Jerome Kramer said no one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt.

The State Patrol responded to an accident on the south end of St. Libory shortly after 8 a.m. Driver Robert Guenette, 43, died at the scene.

Guenette lost control of his vehicle because of ice and collided nearly head-on with a vehicle driven by Chrystal Hopkins, 29, of rural Grand Island, the patrol said. Hopkins was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. She was wearing a seat belt.
