Omaha police say a woman was rescued after driving into Zorinsky Lake on Friday evening.

A call for a water rescue was received about 11:30 p.m. Friday after Danielle Petersen, 36, drove her vehicle into Zorinsky Lake, according to a police report.

Police report a man fishing nearby jumped into the water and was able to pull Petersen from the vehicle.

Officers arrived after the car was submerged at least 50 feet off the boat ramp. The only way to determine the location of the vehicle was the glow of the headlights beneath the water.

Police say that alcohol is considered a factor.
