Jason M. Burgess, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, Megan M. Burgess, 29, was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center and later died.

No charges will be filed in an April motorcycle crash that resulted in the deaths of a husband and wife, the Sarpy County Attorney’s Office announced Friday.

Jason M. Burgess, 39, and his wife and passenger, Megan, 29, died on April 6 after their motorcycle collided with a pickup truck driven by Brian I. Cushman, 16. Cushman was not injured.

Bellevue police said in April that Jason Burgess was pronounced dead at the scene at 21st Street and Cornhusker Road. Megan Burgess was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center and later died. Investigators determined that the 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was going east on Cornhusker Road about 7:30 p.m. when it collided with the 1999 Dodge Ram as it was turning left at 21st Street.

“After a thorough review of the evidence in this matter, no criminal charges will be filed,” Sarpy County Attorney Lee Polikov said in a press release Friday. — Adam Cole
