A delivery driver died Thursday morning when his truck collided with a semitrailer truck that turned in front of him, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

Heavy fog was reported in the area at the time.

According to the Patrol, Jose Fuentes, 24, of Norfolk died at the scene.

The driver of the semi, David Jensen, 59, of rural Norfolk, was not injured.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. at the entrance of a business on U.S. Highway 81 north of Norfolk. Fuentes was driving north on the highway and Jensen was attempting to turn left onto the highway to go south.

The semi was pulling a fuel tank, which spilled about 2,500 gallons of diesel fuel . A hazardous materials crew cleaned it up.
