A snake is to blame for widespread power outages in the Millard area Friday morning.

And no, this isn't a bad "Snakes on a Plane" sequel.

OPPD reports that 1,610 customers were affected by the outage in Millard, which extended from 116th street to 132nd street, and from Howe Street to Harrison Street.

After the outage was reported at 8:45 a.m., OPPD crews found that a snake found its way into the switch gear. The outage was mostly resolved at 9:40 a.m.

A few customers will be without power until equipment can be replaced.
