An Omaha man who was arrested in a stolen car near 28th and Q Streets had a loaded 9mm handgun on the passenger floorboard, police said.

Vincent J. Cerny, 37, also was wanted on two felony arrest warrants in Saunders County, Neb., and Monona County, Iowa.

Cerny was stopped at 6:20 p.m. Saturday.

He told officers a friend loaned him the car, a black Chevy Blazer. Police found the owner, who told them he didn’t know Cerny.

Cerny pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of driving on a suspended license, carrying a concealed gun and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Bail was set at $5,000.

Police said the vehicle was returned to its owner and the handgun was confiscated.
