OSCEOLA — Two men are dead after being hit by a train in southern Iowa.

Officials are looking into why the men were on the tracks in a residential area of Osceola early Saturday morning, said Osceola Police Chief Marty Duffus.

Duffus said the engineer of the BNSF train called 911 around 5 a.m. Saturday to report that the train had hit someone.
