A 66-year-old man from Tekamah died Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash near River Wilds Golf Club in Blair.

Richard Barnett was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Kevin Willis, chief deputy of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators suspect a medical condition led to the crash, Willis said.

Investigators determined that Barnett was southbound on U.S. Highway 75 in a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox about 10:15 a.m. when the SUV left the road near Washington County Road 16. The SUV traveled through a cornfield, struck a tree and hit an outbuilding. An autopsy has been ordered, Willis said.
