COZAD, Neb. (AP) — Authorities say a man has died after being struck by a train in the south-central Nebraska city of Cozad.

The accident occurred a little before noon Wednesday.

Police said the man was walking alongside the tracks when he was struck. Investigators say he was talking on a cellphone and may not have noticed the approaching train.

Lexington station KRVN reported that the man was identified as Johnny Frees, 51, of Cozad.
