A 12-year-old boy was struck by an SUV Wednesday afternoon when he rode his bicycle through an intersection without stopping at the stop sign.

Mohamed Aden, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered fractures to his face and leg. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

He was struck by a Ford Edge. The driver was not hurt.

The collision occurred at the intersection of 48th and Manderson Streets. Mohamed was riding his bike east on Manderson Street, and the Edge was traveling north.

Mohamed was taken to Nebraska Medical Center in serious condition.
