A woman who was hit by an SUV Saturday night near South 24th and Oak Streets suffered broken bones but is expected to survive, police said.

Paramedics had considered her in critical condition en route to Nebraska Medical Center.

The sport utility vehicle was believed to have been traveling about 35 mph, and the impact tossed the woman about 25 feet, according to initial 911 dispatch reports.
