Watch: TD Ameritrade Park resurfaces field with turf

Employees from Bush Sports Turf work to regrade the field level at TD Ameritrade Park. The sod is being replaced after 8 years of use.

The TD Ameritrade Park grounds crew has been busy with field resurfacing the past week, and they documented the transformation on Twitter.

The crew started with a little fun.

After eight seasons, Bush Turf — which also claims the playing field for the Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Chiefs — was hired to replace TD Ameritrade's sod.

Let the construction begin.

After one day the entire infield playing surface — and part of the outfield — was pulled.

The entire field was stripped by the second day.

If any of TD Ameritrade Park's College World Series champions were craving any nostalgic dirt, well, the grounds crew has plenty. And, hey, while you're here, you might as well check out our giant CWS database.

Think the massive rainfall hurt construction? Think again. The grounds crew was thankful.

OK, maybe it was too much rain.

And back to work they go.

And here comes the turf!

Stay tuned for the finished product.
