Two people were shot late Saturday in an apartment building on the western edge of downtown Omaha, then summoned an Uber car service more than an hour later, authorities said.

The driver arrived to pick them up and reported the shootings to police, who found the man and woman at the City View building at 22nd Street and St. Mary’s Avenue. One had been shot in the hand; the other in the arm.

Wyatt Keane and Madalyn Stevens, both 23, were taken to the Nebraska Medical Center by ambulance with injuries not thought to be life-threatening, according to an Omaha Police Department report.

The couple told police that they were sitting on a couch in the City View Apartments near 22nd Street and St. Mary’s Avenue about 7:40 p.m. when a gun Keane was holding went off. The bullet was said to have traveled through Keane’s left hand and into Stevens’ right arm.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene about an hour after the shooting is said to have occurred.

Also Saturday, a 24-year-old woman was shot and arrived at a hospital without the help of the Fire Department’s paramedics.

Crystal Sullivan told an officer she was walking near 45th and Charles Streets when she was shot by an assailant she does not know, a police spokeswoman said.

Sullivan arrived about 1 p.m. at the Nebraska Medical Center. Police did not describe how she got to the hospital. Sullivan’s injury is not life-threatening, police said.

Police had not announced an arrest early Sunday.
