Thursday, the Omaha Police Department is hosting the 11th annual Fun in the Park at the Miller Park Pavilion.

Omaha police plan to have two youth-oriented events this week.

Thursday, the department is hosting the 11th annual Fun in the Park at the Miller Park Pavilion.

The event runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the pavilion at 2707 Redick Ave. Games, prizes, food, swimming and police displays are planned. Youths who attend are eligible to win a free bike; the department will be raffling 50 bikes.

The event is free and open to elementary and middle school youths. A parent or guardian must be present.

On Friday, the department is hosting its third annual Bomb Pop With a Cop from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Deerfield Place parking lot, 5346 S. 136th St.

Officers with the southwest precinct and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand, as will the Emergency Response Unit and ABLE-1 helicopter pilots.
