Firefighters made quick work Friday morning of an auto parts store fire in midtown Omaha.

The fire at the Carquest Auto Parts shop at South 48th Street and Saddle Creek Road was reported around 6 a.m.

The fire was confined to the exterior of the building, according to firefighters’ reports to Douglas County 911 dispatchers.

The blaze was reported under control within 10 minutes.

Firefighters said they encountered smoke and flames on approach to the auto parts store.

Traffic in both directions on Saddle Creek Road was blocked while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.
