The Douglas County Treasurer’s Office has opened a new branch service location near 156th Street and West Maple Road, in the former Thomas Fitzgerald Veterans Home.

It replaces the 108th Street and West Maple Road Treasurer’s Office branch, which is now closed.

What: New Douglas County Treasurer’s Office Customer Service Center, with services including vehicle title and registration processing and property tax payments. It includes a drive-thru lane, as well as lobby services.

Where: In the former Thomas Fitzgerald Veterans Home, 15335 West Maple Road.

When: Opened April 11. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, except the last day of the month, when the hours are extended to 4:30 p.m.

Why: To offer more service in west Omaha in a building owned by the county. The move was part of a voter-approved 2016 bond issue to renovate the Fitzgerald for a new 911 headquarters and other county offices.

Where else: The Treasurer’s Office also has customer service centers at: 7414 N. 30th St., 4202 S. 50th St., 411 N. 84th St. and 5730 S. 144th St.
