A 35-year-old woman involved in a freak crash with a deer last week has died.
Sara Steiner had been on life support at an Omaha hospital to allow for organ donation.
Tammy Trahan, her mother, said her organs have been received by several people.
Trahan said it was a blessing that her daughter was able to help others.
Steiner was injured Sept. 7 when a deer crashed through the windshield of her car while she was driving to work. An SUV had struck the deer, which then went airborne and crashed into Steiner’s car.
Steiner married Joseph Steiner in November. She grew up in Fremont and lived in Douglas County near 120th and State Streets.
She was about 4½ months pregnant with a baby boy, who also died.
Sara Steiner is survived by a 5-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.
Trahan said a celebration of life event is scheduled for 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at The Corner Bar in Fremont, with live music starting at 5 p.m.
Steiner’s funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. Trahan said memorials can be dropped off at any First State Bank & Trust location in Fremont.
