A 54-year-old Omaha man drove himself to a hospital early Sunday after being shot near 16th and Emmett Streets.

Kenneth Mays told police that he was in a vehicle about 1 a.m. when two men in their early 20s approached him. After a brief conversation, Mays said, shots were fired at his car as he drove away.

He drove to the Creighton University Medical Center, where he was treated for injuries not thought to be life-threatening, said Officer Kevin Wiese, a police spokesman.
