A pedestrian died at an Omaha hospital Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Maple Street.

The man, David Grinbergs, 55, of Omaha, was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center, where he died. Police said he was attempting to cross Maple Street south to north near 101st Street, but he was not in a marked crosswalk.

Robert Rudd, 49, of Omaha was identified as the driver of a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country minivan that struck the man shortly after 7 p.m. Rudd was not injured.
