Omaha officials have canceled recycling pickup Friday and Saturday due to delays caused by the weather earlier this week.
The cancellation applies to residents whose regular dates of pickup were Thursday and Friday. The schedule moved forward a day because of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Garbage and yard waste collections will continue, the Omaha Public Works Department said in a press release.
Waste Management, the company the city has a contract with for waste pickup, experienced delays earlier in the week because of the weather on Wednesday. The trucks normally assigned to recycling routes will be used to help pick up missed items from earlier in the week.
Two weeks ago, officials also canceled recycling pickup for residents on the Friday schedule because of delays from earlier bad weather.

Waste maximum has just totally given up. We are going to have to charge them for every failure to meet their contact.
This is the 2nd week in a row!!! What a bunch of BS!!! I am sick and tired of having to pick up everyone else's recycled Sh*t that blows away when WM can't meet their deadlines!! The weather??? come on!
Have you expressed your displeasure and outrage ( !!! & ??? ) directly to Waste Management? If this is your only place of venting your frustration I doubt anyone at that company is reading these comments.
Of course I have. Also the mayors hotline. I am pretty sure the company reads them. They are entertaining to them.
