NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — Two people were arrested for drug possession after a routine traffic stop Wednesday on Interstate 80.

Brandon Frantz, 23, and Anna VanBuskirk, 21, both of Lincoln, were each arrested on suspicion of possession of a hallucinogen and possession of cocaine, class four felonies, and possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

A trooper stopped the vehicle five miles west of North Platte at about 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to Capt. Jim Parish of the Nebraska State Patrol. Parish did not indicate the amount of drugs confiscated from the vehicle.

Both individuals were in the custody of the Lincoln County Detention Center. The vehicle was impounded and two dogs that were in the vehicle were taken to the North Platte Animal Shelter.
