LINCOLN — A 21-year-old Lincoln man is going to jail for assaulting a man with a trophy in November.

David Harvey was sentenced Friday in Lancaster County Court to 90 days in jail, with credit for 59 served, and a $250 fine.

Harvey pleaded no contest to third-degree assault in December.

Police say the 44-year-old victim told officers that he and a woman were walking west of downtown Lincoln in November when they were confronted by Harvey, who made inappropriate comments to the woman. The older man said he told Harvey to stop, but Harvey instead punched him, then hit him with a 14-inch-long metal trophy. — AP
