LINCOLN — The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services announced the opening of a new office at 5319 N. 30th St. in north Omaha on Wednesday.

The office houses child welfare workers, as well as employees in public benefit programs such as food assistance and Medicaid.

Services available at the office include application processing for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known as food stamps, and other economic assistance programs.
