Water runs over the levee protecting Hamburg, Iowa, in March.

The Army Corps of Engineers awarded a contract to repair yet another hole in the levees along the Missouri River.

On Monday, the corps announced that it had awarded a $249,218 contract to close a breach in the levee southwest of Bartlett, Iowa.

The contract went to Diamond Group Engineering of Santa Ana, California. Repairs are scheduled to be completed by June 1.

The repairs will be temporary until permanent work can be done.

More than 500 miles of levees on the Missouri, Platte and Elkhorn Rivers and their tributaries have been damaged by flooding, according to the corps.
