An inmate at the Lincoln Correctional Center attacked a woman working in an office at the prison Saturday.

The woman was hit in the head and face and was choked, according to the Department of Correctional Services. Other inmates in the area came to her defense by calling for help on a radio. The inmate was restrained, and the woman was taken to the hospital for evaluation. She suffered a concussion and bumps and bruises.

After the assault is investigated, the results will be forwarded to the Lancaster County attorney.
