Omaha police ticketed a 22-year-old woman on suspicion of child neglect after an infant was injured in a traffic accident.

The crash occurred about 7:40 p.m. Friday at 60th Street and Hartman Avenue.

Police said a 2006 Chevrolet Aveo was northbound on 60th Street and beginning to turn west on Hartman Avenue when it collided with a southbound 2008 Chevrolet Equinox.

The infant, Lamiah Armstrong, was a passenger in the Equinox and improperly restrained in the vehicle, said Sgt. Jason Menning. The child was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center for observation, Menning said.

T’mara L. King, driver of the Equinox, also was ticketed on suspicion of driving on a suspended license and booked for an outstanding warrant, Menning said.

Neither King nor the 17-year-old male driver of the Aveo was injured.
