A Ralston High School student brought an airsoft plastic pellet gun to school on Thursday, according to a letter sent home to parents.
“There was never a threat to students, the school day proceeded regularly, and our process to address any safety concerns worked exactly as it should,” the letter said.
The letter continued:
“We appreciate that our students understand the importance of reporting any safety concern so administrators can investigate immediately, as they did Thursday.”
The district said that because of student privacy regulations, it could not go into specifics about the incident.
Friday is the last day of school for Ralston students.
The top gun in this picture was taken off a party by our officers yesterday. The orange tip has been painted black. The bottom gun is a real firearm. Would you be able to tell the difference in a split second if someone pointed the top one at you from several feet away? pic.twitter.com/8uoKJW0dHc— Ralston Police (@RalstonPolice) May 24, 2019
