A 35-year-old man was arrested early Thursday on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder after the shooting of a woman at the Bellevue home where both lived.

David S. Clark was booked into the Sarpy County Jail shortly after 7 a.m. He is accused of shooting his domestic partner, Brenda M. Henderson, 35.

Clark was also arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, domestic assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Bellevue police were called to 909 Hickory Circle about 1:15 a.m. Thursday on a report of a shooting, said Lt. Andy Jashinske. Officers found Henderson, who was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in extremely critical condition.

Clark, who was arrested at the scene, is also awaiting a jury trial in Sarpy County District Court on charges of domestic assault causing injury, two counts of third-degree assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The charges stem from an Oct. 30 incident in which police were called to the home on Hickory Circle and found Henderson injured.

In 2000, Clark was found guilty in Lincoln County of being in possession of a stolen firearm and receiving stolen property. He was sentenced to one to three years in prison on each count.
