A man accused of hiding a gun used in the slaying of Kyle LeFlore, the city’s first homicide victim of 2018, has been charged.
Shydale Glass, 20, was charged with being an accessory to a felony and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Glass, who is being held in jail on another charge, was ordered held on $300,000 bail Wednesday, bringing his total bail to $350,000.
LeFlore, a 27-year-old Army sergeant, was shot and killed on Jan. 6 outside Reign Lounge while being robbed of his necklaces, officials have said. Larry Goynes, 27, and Jason Devers, 35, have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the slaying.
Prosecutor Eric Fabian said Glass took a gun that was suspected of being used in the killing and moved it to an apartment.
“The defendant knew it was used in a homicide and was attempting to hide it,” Fabian said.
Authorities found a black and chrome Smith & Wesson gun wrapped in a gray shirt in an apartment near 60th Street and the Northwest Radial , according to an affidavit.
Glass denied knowledge of the gun, but testing found his DNA on it.
