A man and a woman were arrested Tuesday night after a traffic stop in southwest Iowa just east of Clarinda.

Around 10:20 p.m., the Page County Sheriff’s Office said, deputies stopped a 2001 Ford Focus on U.S. Highway 71 and 210th Street.

The Sheriff’s Office said a 36-year-old Bedford, Iowa, man, who was driving the Ford, was arrested on suspicion of fraudulent registration, no drug tax stamp, driving with a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) with intent to deliver, and on Page County warrants for assault and second-degree burglary.

A passenger in the vehicle, a 36-year-old Clarinda woman, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) with intent to deliver, the Sheriff’s Office said.
