Southwest Iowa authorities were searching for a 28-year-old Council Bluffs man who was being sought in connection with several warrants out of the Bluffs and fleeing from the scene from a traffic stop and injury accident in Glenwood.

The Mills County Sheriff’s Office said among the warrants that the man was facing were carrying a concealed weapon, possession of burglary tools and assault.

The man ran from an accident around 6:15 p.m. Monday in Glenwood after the vehicle crashed while fleeing from a traffic stop at U.S. Highway 34 and Hilman Road.

The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old Bluffs woman, was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha.

A search Monday night by several law enforcement agencies, including the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Bluffs police, an Omaha police helicopter, Glenwood police and the Iowa State Patrol, failed to locate the Bluffs man, the authorities said.
