Nebraska State Patrol troopers seized 526 pounds of what officials said was high-grade marijuana and arrested two California men after a traffic stop Wednesday.
The stop occurred just after 11 a.m. when a trooper spotted an eastbound truck failing to signal and having improper lighting near Goehner, Nebraska. Goehner is southwest of Seward.
During the stop, a patrol K-9 detected the odor of a controlled substance coming from the rear of the truck.
Troopers then searched the vehicle and discovered 17 boxes of marijuana. The estimated street value is $1.5 million, the patrol said.
A 27-year-old man from Sacramento, California, and a 38-year-old man from Huntington Beach, California, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to deliver and no drug tax stamp. They were taken to the Seward County Jail.
