Fifteen people were arrested in Council Bluffs on Thursday in a prostitution sting conducted by undercover officers on the Child Exploitation Task Force.

The task force’s supervisor, Council Bluffs Police Sgt. Robert Christensen, said officers posed online as both potential customers and prostitutes.

Officers arranged to meet the people who had contacted them at a Bluffs hotel. The people, both men and women, were arrested there.

The operation took about 12 hours, Christensen said.

Fourteen of the people were arrested on suspicion of prostitution and one was arrested on a warrant for a probation violation. All were adults.

The law enforcement agencies represented on the task force are the Council Bluffs, Omaha and La Vista Police Departments, the Pottawattamie and Mills County Sheriff’s Offices and the FBI.
