One man died and another was in critical condition after a shooting in north Omaha early Sunday.

Jal Dak Kun, 24, was pronounced dead at the Nebraska Medical Center, a police spokesman said. Nyoun Joak, 25, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The shooting was reported at 1:05 a.m. near 32nd and Seward Streets. Police were called to the area for a report of “multiple gunshots,” said Officer Michael Pecha.

Court records show that Kun lived at 3216 Seward St. One of the men was found near the home at that address and the other closer to the street, police said. Officers administered first-aid and CPR until emergency personnel from the Omaha Fire Department arrived.

It’s not clear if the men knew each other. Police have not announced any suspects being taken into custody.
